Tryout Information

We're excited to announce the upcoming tryouts for Winthrop Youth Hockey for the 2024-2025 season! Tryouts will take place on March 11th-12th and March 18th-19th at Larsen Rink. 

To register for tryouts, please visit our website https://www.winthropyouthhockey.com/registration/14564. where you can complete the registration process and pay a tryout fee of $75. (This fee is deducted from your 24-25 tuition)

We will NOT be accepting cash or checks. All payments must be made through the Winthrop Youth Hockey website.

Program tryouts for the 2024-2025 season will be held during the weeks of March 11th & 18th.

TRYOUT DETAILS:

The tryout format for this season will undergo a change from previous years. We will be implementing a two-day scrimmage evaluation process where players will be assessed by individuals external to our program.

Following the first day of tryouts, players identified as top performers will be notified of their selection for the higher team and will not be required to attend the second day of tryouts. All remaining players are expected to return for the second day to undergo further evaluation.

Failure to Tryout:

Inability to attend tryouts as a result of unforeseen personal conflict and/or illness requires immediate notification to the Board of Directors. The board will handle each situation on a case-by-case basis as appropriate. 

Registration Fee

A non-refundable $75 tryout fee is required to complete registration. Payment details will be provided during the registration process.

Deadline to Register

All players must be registered by the day of their first tryout session. Anyone not registered by that time will not be allowed to attend tryouts. As a result, and per our bylaws, they will be placed on the lowest level team at their respective division.

Important Financial Policy

Players with any outstanding balance from a previous season will not be permitted to participate in tryouts.

If a player does not participate in tryouts due to an outstanding balance, they will be placed on the lowest team within their division.
